Parkland Multi-factor Authentication
ParklandOne password management has moved to Okta
It's official, Parkland has moved to one system for authentication and account management.
Instead of navigating to multiple sites for password changes, multifactor authentication (MFA) settings, and access to your apps dashboard, all these will now work through Okta via login.parkland.edu. It is important to note that, moving forward, Parkland College will use the term "ParklandOne" to refer to one's digital credentials which encompasses your Parkland username, password, and MFA authentication.
Timeline
On 12/19/23:
- No actions will be required on your part for this update.
- one.parkland.edu will no longer be the destination for password management and that page will instead take you to login.parkland.edu
- If you need to make any changes to your password or MFA settings, sign in to login.parkland.edu and click on the "ParklandOne Settings" button. The "Okta Settings" button will be removed.
- If you forget your password, you can click on the "Forgot your Password?" link within the password prompt when attempting to access any Parkland service (such as cobra.parkland.edu or login.parkland.edu).
- Most students and employees will be prompted to enter an alternative (non-Parkland) email address when logging into a Parkland service the first time after go-live. This secondary email will serve as another means of receiving notifications from Okta.
- Brand new students who have not yet set up a password or MFA will have their secondary email address preloaded in Okta which can serve as a means of temporary (initial) password recovery if they cannot locate their "Temporary Password" email from Admissions.
- New students and employees should be directed to login.parkland.edu to set up their ParklandOne account. Once they enter their username and temporary password, they will be prompted to create a new password and set up multifactor authentication. It is recommended that they do this prior to signing onto a Parkland machine for the first time.
- The following items will reflect these changes:
- Communication to new students from Admissions
- Communication to new employees from Campus Technologies
- E-Tools website for students
- Account-related KnowledgeBase articles
- The Technology page on connect.parkland.edu
- Kiosk computers
After 1/1/24:
- Account-related information in the new student orientation videos will be updated.
